“Where others do not go, there the poet goes”
Poetry is not merely a play of words but a very serious spiritual exercise whose very being is pledged to a comprehension of the self and the universe; and a comprehension of the self and the universe is impossible without love.
Genuine, good poetry is not possible in the absence of the flame of love because it is this light that tears apart the mist of obscurity covering the secrets of the universe. Shorn of the mist, the details become vibrant and the poet becomes aware of the enigma of reality.
"Tishnagi" made its debut in London under the auspices of the prestigious Nehru Centre and the House of Lords.
The event was widely publicised and resulted in a record "standing room only" turnout, as well as a series of events throughout the city, including interviews with leading TV channels such as the BBC soirees at the homes of British nobility.
***Paperback editions of "Tishnagi" are also available in Urdu and Hindi.
Minu Bakshi's poetry from Tishnagi to Mauj-e-Saraab is the trajectory of love. The expression of her journey, from the body to the soul. Hence it displays the hues of materialistic love and passion along with consistence with the true lofty love and passion. Thus she should neither be taken merely as a painter of human relationships, nor simply an illustrator of spiritualistic values. Instead she should be taken as a translator of both notions.
“Mauj-e-Saraab” Minu's second book of Urdu ghazals with transliterations in Hindi and English also includes translation of the ghazals into English by Nyla Daud.
“Mauj-e-Saraab”, was released in November 2017 in Delhi by the veteran award-winning actor Shabana Azmi, who said: "Minu Bakshi's poetry is 'Felt-Thought'...her verse is steeped in love and, even more importantly, in romance - a virtue fast-disappearing in today's world. There is a simplicity with which she surrenders to love and makes the reader yearn for more".
“Mauj-e-Saraab” was also launched at the Appejay Kolkata Lit Festival January 2018.
This book of Ghazals is transliterated in all 3 languages Hindi, Urdu and English with translations in English by Nyla Doud from Pakistan & has received an excellent review from the Pakistani newspaper Dawn on the 4th of February 2018.
***Paperback editions of "Mauj-e-Saraab" are also available in Urdu and Hindi.
